Hi, I’m Carley—an interior designer with over 20 years of experience and a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Mount Royal University. I had spent many years working as a lead designer & project manager for prominent design firms in Calgary, working on luxury new-build residential projects, show homes and estate homes before officially opening Studio Ru in 2018.

Studio Ru (Roo) means to flow, to move, to set in motion. It represents a design philosophy rooted in thoughtful progression and intentional decision making. I believe the design journey is just as important as the end result, and that exceptional spaces emerge through a process that feels effortless, collaborative, and uniquely tailored to the homeowner.

In all of my projects, I aim to seamlessly blend functionality and aesthetics, creating designs that are both timeless and contemporary. I love honing in on what speaks to every homeowner I work with, and I strive to craft curated spaces that reflect their unique taste and lifestyle—thoughtful, original concepts tailored fully to you.

When I’m not conjuring up the next exciting interior, you can find me spending time outdoors or travelling with my husband, two kids, and our lazy golden retreiver.
